If you’ve kept up with Blue Moon Comics Groups’ Diversions, you’ll note that recent issues have featured stories created and/or written by other folks besides me. I’ve learned from experience that, in order to keep an anthology comic (or really any comic) going, you need allies. That’s the thing I love about the Indie comics scene: that feeling of “we’re in this together.” And we are!
Warren Montgomery (Will Lill Comics), Len Mihalovich (Lenovations Press), Mark Davis (Surprising Comics/Golden Era), Chris Malgrain (Oniric Comics Group), Steven Butler (Steven Butler Studios), and others have lent (and continue to lend) moral, advertising, and even product support as you have seen—and will continue to see.
Warren was the original publisher of some of my work and has graciously sent me files to use in Diversions. Len and I have swapped ads. I’ve written stories for Mark and he’s allowing me to publish them (as well as allowing me to bring in some of his other heroic creations to print). Steven has provided covers and pin-ups, shared Blue Moon Comics via positive reviews, and is collaborating with me on some upcoming projects (Shhh! That’s a secret only you Blue Moon Stackers know!) Chris and I have swapped ads and even content. Just check out the cover below featuring my favorite of Chris’ creations slated to appear in Diversions #11—Sideral!
While I’m mentioning friends, I’d be remiss to not send thanks to Rik Offenberger (of G-Man Comics fame) for his BMCG posts on First Comics News and Max Traver for all his amazing reviews on Max Reads Comics.
The thing the above-mentioned folks have in common is a true passion for comics. We’ve bonded over that passion. Found common ground, although we’re all very different people. Common ground makes for a community of friends. I’m proud that Blue Moon gets to be part of such a wonderful community!
Thanks so much for the mention! Long may the Blue Moon rise!
